Scheduling for hotels, venues and catering teams

Hotels, venues and caterers run on repeating weeks with sudden spikes. Build the base week from a template, layer event shifts on top, and let staff confirm their shifts so you know before the weekend who is actually coming in.

What gets in the way

Where the week falls apart

  • Event weeks look nothing like normal weeks

A wedding on Saturday needs twelve extra hands, and the schedule tool wants you to enter each shift by hand.

  • Nobody confirms they saw the schedule

Published is not the same as read. Housekeeping learns about a change from the whiteboard.

  • Tips and split shifts complicate payroll

Banquet tips, split shifts and unpaid meal breaks are reconciled by hand every two weeks.

How Shift Terminal fits

Shift Terminal for hospitality

Scheduling

Templates for regular weeks, open shifts for events

Save a normal week as a schedule template, copy it forward, then post the event shifts as open shifts with multiple slots. Annotations mark blackout dates and "business closed" days directly on the calendar.

Notifications

Shift confirmations

Require employees to confirm their shifts. Unconfirmed shifts are highlighted on the schedule, and reminders go out before the shift starts, by push or e-mail.

Time clock

Tips and breaks recorded at clock-out

A tips prompt at clock-out puts banquet gratuities on the timesheet. Break rules deduct unpaid meals automatically, or staff clock their own breaks.

Kiosk

A kiosk in the staff corridor

One locked tablet with employee PINs handles every department’s punches, keeps working when the connection drops, and stays awake all shift.

Included

The parts of the plan you’ll use most

All of it is included in the one flat price. These are the areas that matter most for teams like yours.

FAQ

Questions from teams in hospitality

Can we schedule several departments separately?

Yes. Use positions for departments (front desk, housekeeping, banquet) and the Positions view to see each one, or separate schedules per property.

Can part-time event staff pick up shifts without a manager assigning them?

Post open shifts with the number of slots you need. Staff pick them up or bid; you can require approval or let pickups go straight onto the schedule.

Do we pay extra for a second property?

No. Additional schedules and job sites are included in the flat price.
